warranty & replacement policy

CBI offers a Lifetime Warranty for manufacturer defects on all its products from date of purchase by the customer subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • The product was purchased from an authorised CBI dealer.
  • The item belongs to the original purchaser.
  • The fault was not caused by neglect, damage, accident or fair wear and tear.
  • The nature of the fault must always be identified on documentation accompanying goods.
  • Copies of proof of purchase such as a dated sales docket must accompany the returned goods otherwise CBI will not be liable for any claim.
  • NB: For regulators, a service card must accompany the goods showing proof of service within one month of the anniversary of date of purchase and every 12 months thereafter.
  • Items should be returned to place of purchase for return to CBI.  Any returns made direct by purchaser to CBI must be accompanied by appropriate documentation.
  • If a purchaser insists on having an item repaired immediately by a CBI dealer, CBI will not be liable for any service charges. Under these circumstances CBI will supply parts at no charge if the appropriate documentation accompanies the returned faulty parts and the parts in question are determined to be faulty by CBI.
  • If any CBI dealer needs warranty item replacement prior to CBI receiving the faulty item, the dealer will be invoiced and credited when the item is deemed to be a genuine warranty claim.
  • Where possible faulty stock will be repaired. If unrepairable the item will be replaced, credits will only be issued if replacement stock is unavailable. If a CBI dealer automatically replaces an item to a customer from their stock without permission from a CBI representative and that item is repairable it will be returned in operational condition and not replaced with new stock.
  • RETURNS OF SALEABLE GOODS (OTHER THAN DELIVERIES MADE IN ERROR) WILL BE SUBJECT TO A 20% RESTOCKING CHARGE. SUCH RETURNS  WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED IF AUTHORISED BY A CBI REPRESENTATIVE AND FREIGHT MUST ALWAYS BE PREPAID BY SENDER.

Note: To keep freight costs to a minimum CBI is prepared to arrange such returns with their preferred carrier and charge the CBI dealer accordingly.
